Over Rough Terrain
We listen to the news, read the newspapers, see what is going on around us with others and all the struggles and worries we face in our own life and we fret and complain, we gripe and blame but it doesn’t have to be that way…Read more.
OVER ROUGH TERRAIN
It seems to me in this old world
there’s too much stress and strain,
too much struggle, too much work
with way too little show of gain;
there’s too much worry, too much woe…
and seems too much I complain
when all I really need to do
to cross this rocky, rough terrain
is hear and follow as God leads
instead of wandering off again
where I stumble, fumble, maybe fall,
and to all my own disdain
when I take what seems an easier way
just to find it wrought with wind and rain
and storms that toss and batter me
until my hope is drained
and days seem dark and foreboding,
filled with sorrows and with pain…
But it wouldn’t have to be this way
if I’d just let Jesus reign,
not just give my worries to Him
and then take them back again;
He would guide my footsteps sure and true
across life’s rough terrain.
I’d need not worry then at all
and have no reason to complain.
He knows the way I need to go,
knows every possible pitfall,
knows the best and safest route to take;
He is God, after all.
He knows each thing I’ll ever need
to face life’s dangers and life’s sorrows
and knows all that I cannot see;
He already sees tomorrow.
He is my all sufficiency.
He is all I’ll ever need.
He will lead me to the mountain top
if I just follow and believe.
He will guide my footsteps sure and true
across life’s rough terrain,
light my path and lead the way
‘til I come home again.

Lovely words – rather inspiring
Nicely written and a comfort to know, I’m not the only one who loses heart, all too often! Our God is truly the only strength we need, to come through all this, as a Christian soldier. God Bless!
I always say that no one can’t be too busy to spare some time to someone else be it a relative, a friend or even a neighbour. Thanks for sharing!
